Join Us in Making a Difference – Become a Recycling Officer!
Are you passionate about the environment and ready to roll up your sleeves to help tackle food waste? Winchester City Council is launching an exciting new&nbsp;Food Waste Recycling Collection Service, and we’re looking for&nbsp;two enthusiastic, hands-on Recycling Officers&nbsp;to help make it a success.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a small, dedicated team working closely with our waste contractor, Biffa, to deliver real change across the district. You’ll be out and about, engaging with residents - particularly those in flats and communal properties - to ensure everyone can take part in the new service.
What You’ll Be Doing:
<ul>
<li>Visiting communal properties across the district to support the phased rollout of the new food waste service.</li>
<li>Educating and encouraging residents to participate through updating signage and delivering clear, targeted communications.</li>
<li>Gathering data to support new recycling opportunities.</li>
<li>Identifying and resolving practical issues on the ground.</li>
<li>Working independently, using your initiative and common sense to get the job done.</li>
</ul>
What We’re Looking For:
<ul>
<li>A genuine interest in sustainability and waste reduction.</li>
<li>A proactive, can-do attitude.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and the confidence to speak with residents.</li>
<li>Excellent organisation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.</li>
<li>A&nbsp;full UK driving licence,&nbsp;access to your own vehicle, and the ability to obtain&nbsp;business use insurance.</li>
