The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Family Support and Safeguarding Team. The Family Support and Safeguarding Team are responsible for supporting children and families to thrive, overcoming challenges, and ensuring children’s safety, with a focus on strengthening family relationships and improving outcomes through a creative, strengths-based approach.
This is a permanent position with the flexibility of full-time or part-time hours.
In this role, you will be supported by a strong and consistent senior management team, with a manageable caseload, high quality reflective supervision working in supportive and creative social work teams.
Following successful completion of probation period, Social Workers in North Somerset have the right to seek Senior Workers pay if they are able to evidence the experience to an agreed standard and progress to Level 9: - £40,221 – £45,441 per annum.
Key Responsibilities and duties will include:
<ul>
<li>Undertaking S47, assessment, planning, intervention and review to support children who are in need, including child protection, care proceedings and children looked after.</li>
<li>Working collaboratively with other professionals in order to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to improving outcomes for children, young people and their families.</li>
<li>Working with a small number of children and families, to achieve the best possible long-term outcomes for children, using Signs of Safety (training and support provided if required).</li>
<li>Continuously improve your practice by developing your knowledge and skills through post qualifying training.</li>
</ul>
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. 
Work Style

About You
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about social work, and who possesses the following skills and experience:
Essential Criteria:

<li>Be a qualified Social Worker (with a Social Work England Registration) with a passion for working with children and their families to help improve their outcomes and to keep them safe from harm using a strengths-based approach.</li>
<li>Have sound knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, including a clear understanding of ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ and fostering regulations and legislation.</li>
<li>Have an ability to build effective relationships with children, young people and families.</li>

As a member of the coaching team, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality sessions and courses, and the facilitation of our Pay &amp; Play hire. We are looking for enthusiastic instructors/coaches, who are passionate about the benefits of the outdoor experience and can deliver safe and fun sessions. In addition to activity delivery, you will be required to assist in the general running of a busy leisure and outdoor activity Centre eg equipment storage and maintenance.&nbsp;
Our current activities include canoeing, kayaking, sailing, raft building, bell boating, team building and archery and more are in the pipeline. The Listening Place is a volunteer-led charity aiming to transform how we support people who feel suicidal.&nbsp;Our trained volunteers are part of a team delivering face-to-face, confidential, ongoing support to thousands of people each year.&nbsp; They help create the warm and welcoming environment that encourages people struggling with suicidal thoughts and feelings to talk openly without being judged or given advice.&nbsp; &nbsp;
We are looking for Listening Volunteers to join our team at our new site based near Liverpool Street. Listening Volunteers provide ongoing face-to-face support to visitors on regular, fortnightly 4-hour shifts during which they meet with up to 3 visitors (for up to 50 minutes each). In order to ensure continuity for our visitors we require a one-year minimum commitment from our LVs, as well as three months’ notice of intention to leave.
No experience or qualifications are necessary – we provide full training in active listening.&nbsp; We look for warmth, empathy and resilience in our volunteers and the ability to be non-judgemental and avoid giving advice.
We are primarily recruiting Listening Volunteers for our new site near Liverpool Street. We also have limited vacancies available at our other sites in Hammersmith, Pimlico and Kings Cross.
