About the Team:
The PDOP Team works closely with other teams here at RBC who are involved with the delivery of Adult Social Care.&nbsp; The PDOP team forms part of the Living Well Service of ASC where the Mental Health and Learning Disability and Autism (LDA) team are also members.&nbsp; A Head of Service oversees all work and responsibilities of the Living Well Service.
PDOP is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Social Care Co-ordinators we provide the next step in assessment and support planning to people who are 18 years and over and have a long-term physical disability or are over 65 years old.

About the Role:
The team is focused on supporting people who require unplanned reviews of their existing care and support or have been identified by the Advice and Well Being Hub in need of ongoing care and support.&nbsp; We also undertake S.42 safeguarding enquiries and BIA assessments and carry out various legal undertakings in partnership with the Joint Legal Team.
We operate and adhere to the legal framework for adults; Care Act 2014, MCA 2005, DoLS, 2008 (and where appropriate Mental Health Act 1983 (2007), to work with people in a strengths-based way to; promote wellbeing, rights and independence, prevent the need for care and bring about timely interventions with positive outcomes.
Our aim is to be a high performing, efficient, multidisciplinary team focusing on TEAM Reading values that supports and values staff and the skills and diversity they bring to the team.
Working as a Social Worker in PDOP you will be part of a friendly&nbsp;and supportive team, where development and training are encouraged.&nbsp; We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate great communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, services users and health care providers.
Duties include:

As a Planned Works Surveyor, you’ll take the lead in managing a portfolio of planned maintenance and capital investment projects across our housing stock. From kitchen and bathroom upgrades to energy efficiency and external works, you’ll oversee every stage—ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest standards. We are part of a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of 5 teams – Building Surveying, Housing New Build, Compliance, Mechanical and Electrical and Quality Assurance. Our role is to deliver a varied programme of repairs, maintenance, refurbishment, and redevelopment to our portfolio of housing stock alongside our Direct Services Organisation. Our housing stock lies totally within the Borough of Reading and our vision is for everyone to have the opportunity to live in a good quality sustainable home, within in a lively and thriving neighbourhood. We’re working hard to improve disadvantaged areas and enhance people’s lives across the Borough, including a carbon neutral strategy. The role offers real variety and involvement in a wide range of exciting projects. We manage a circa 6000 stock of residential property, from Victorian terrace houses, through to high rise flats and modern care facilities.
Through partnership working, with both the tenant and contractor, you will arrange and manage works from inception to completion to ensure a seamless approach is delivered. 
Our planned works programme has an annual budget of circa £14 million, with additional multi-million pound refurbishment projects. The projects variety includes house extensions for less able tenants, whole house refurbishment, kitchen &amp; bathroom replacement, elemental renewal, external decorations and repairs and zero net carbon installs.
Your work will include feasibility, design, planning, procurement and full contract and project management of a portfolio of projects. 
About you:

<li>A good understanding of building pathology.</li>
<li>A working knowledge of category management, procurement legislation and procurement methodology.</li>

Our housing stock lies totally within the Borough of Reading and our vision is for everyone to have the opportunity to live in a good quality sustainable home, within in a lively and thriving neighbourhood. We’re working hard to improve disadvantaged areas and enhance people’s lives across the Borough, including a carbon neutral strategy. This is a key role within Housing Property Services, managing a team of building surveyors and a portfolio of your own projects as part of delivering our annual planned works programme. The role offers real variety and involvement in a wide range of exciting projects. We manage circa 6000 stock of residential property, from Victorian terrace houses, through to high rise flats and modern care facilities.
Through partnership working, with both the tenant and contractor, you will arrange and manage works from inception to completion to ensure a seamless approach is delivered. 
Our planned works programme has an annual budget of circa £14 million, with additional multi-million pound refurbishment projects. The projects variety include house extensions for less able tenants, whole house refurbishment, kitchen &amp; bathroom replacement, elemental renewal, external decorations, and repairs and zero net carbon installs.
Your work will include feasibility, design, planning, procurement and full contract and project management of a portfolio of projects.
About you:
We need you to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and to have had prior experience of team management.&nbsp; You will need a proven background in the field of building surveying, building construction and project management and administration. Specific requirements:

Social Worker / Senior Social Worker– Children with Disabilities Team
Our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team is looking for a Full-Time Social Worker/ Senior Social Worker to join them, who either has experience in a CWD Team or brings excellent skills from a Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP) or Child in Care (CIC) background and is keen to extend their knowledge in the disabilities arena.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing quality services to children with disabilities and their families, delivered within a signs of safety practice framework, to support life skills development, increase independence, promote family resilience and keep children safe from harm.
Many of the key aspects of this role, will draw on your previous experience working with families using a strength-based approach. We will provide the training and support you will need to become a confident CWD Social Worker.
The Social Worker role: You will be responsible for a caseload of children with disabilities spanning the range of statutory provisions, including CIN, children subject to CP Plans, CIC and those where Care Proceedings have been initiated. You will work with these children and their families to undertake holistic social work assessments, with a view to identifying risk and need; and work with multi-agency networks to develop and review plans that address and mitigate concerns in a timely manner.
The ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders and communicate effectively in a verbal and written format are key to performing this role, alongside a secure safeguarding understanding.
About the Team: The CWD Team sits within our wider Children with Disabilities Service, which includes a range of resources tailored for families in the Wokingham Borough. The CWD Team is made up of 4 Social Workers and 3 Occupational Therapists. The team is headed up by a Team Manager who has been with Wokingham Borough Council for two and a half years and an experienced Assistant Team Manager. The team works in a hybrid manner, working from the office in Woodley, twice a week, with a pre-arranged duty day in the office which rotates at least once weekly between team members and a team office day on a Thursday. Given the complexity of working with Children with Disabilities, workloads are carefully managed to ensure the ability to deliver a focused and meaningful service.

Holly Spring Primary School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Teaching Assistant&nbsp; to join our friendly hard-working team in KS1 or KS2 in September 2025. The primary focus is to do specified work with children under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher and support children at lunchtime as an OPAL Playworker.

Holly Spring Primary School is a large, well-resourced school in the Bullbrook area of Bracknell.&nbsp; We are a welcoming and caring community of staff with the desire to make a difference for our pupils. We are proud of our site, which has a forest learning area, extensive playing fields and large, spacious classrooms.
The hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only plus 3 inset days and include a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
