We are looking for an enthusiastic Young People’s Worker to be part of our busy multidisciplinary District team working with children aged 0-19 and their families. You will provide intensive 1:1 support for vulnerable young people, assessing their needs, coordinating multi-agency support and delivering interventions to support them to overcome their difficulties. You will develop and sustain excellent relationships with schools and other services. You will also provide targeted support to groups of young people, and will be required to work some evenings. The ideal candidate will be experienced working with individual and groups of young people and able to quickly build relationships. You will have excellent organisation and time management skills, and will be fully proficient at using IT systems. A sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding is essential. We have 1 full time post of 37hours a week. A successful candidate will: • Be part of the Youth Support Service within the District Team focusing on delivering services for young people aged 10 to 19. • Use a holistic and family centred approach. • Carry out assessments of young people’s needs and provide intensive one to one support to meet identified needs. • Plan and deliver targeted group work in partnership with schools and the wider community. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records on relevant case management systems. • Create opportunities and promote young people’s participation in the development, review and implementation of services they receive. We offer regular supervision and professional development opportunities. A Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) qualification in youth and community development is desirable but not essential. • For candidates who are not JNC qualified: Salary on appointment will be between £21,254 to £24,243 depending on experience. • For JNC Qualified candidates: Salary on appointment will be between £24,945 to £27,125, depending on experience. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
