Are you a skilled youth worker with a recognised JNC qualification looking for the next step and for new challenges and opportunities?
As the Youth Work Team Leader you will lead and performance manage a youth work team, planning, delivering and evaluating creative, innovative and focused quality curriculum based targeted youth work to develop young people’s personal and social skills and achieve targets.
You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality informal education projects and programmes across the district which meet Service priorities and result in clear learning outcomes. You will be expected to establish new initiatives and lead your team to develop, with young people, a stimulating and challenging youth work offer.
You will have the ability to quickly establish positive relationships with diverse groups of young people and partners, responding flexibly to the needs of young people and the Service. You will represent the team at working groups, forums and with stakeholders.
You will deliver and manage a variety of programmes and projects including issue based work, fixed term programmes, youth councils/forums, National Citizen Service and residentials - in youth centres, community centres and schools – with a focus on vulnerable groups and targeted localities. You will be required to monitor and performance manage your team through supervision, observations and assessments.
Good IT, organisation and communication skills plus the ability to meet targets, produce reports and correspond with young people, parents and partners is essential.
You will be required to deliver face to face work during evenings, including Fridays or Saturdays, at other times during the week, at the weekends, during school holidays and residentials. You will be required to travel across the county so access to a vehicle is essentia
