<p>The Derbyshire Independent Advocacy service is an in-house advocacy service available to vulnerable children and young people from 0-25 (if they have SEND) across Derbyshire. The role focuses on supporting individual children and young people to have their say about issues that are important to them, share their views and ensure that they can be an active part of planning and meetings. We work with children and young people in care and care experienced young people, children and young people with SEND and social, emotional and mental health challenges. </p><p>We need advocates who are independent from the local authority, willing to travel and work at times that are accessible to children and young people. A genuine value of wanting to support children and young people is essential with listening skills and confidence to promote their views to professionals key to the role. <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Engagement Service for 3 Positive Play Officers to cover North, South and the High Peak region of Derbyshire.</p><p>We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to work with children and young people on a one-to-one basis within the schools and settings across Derbyshire.</p><p>Working in a friendly, welcoming team, you will use creativity and developmental approaches to help children overcome barriers to their learning, build confidence, and enhance their emotional wellbeing. </p><p>The successful candidate will have a calm, caring and empathetic disposition, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people. You will deliver structured sessions using play as a medium to promote personal growth, resilience, and self-esteem.</p><p>You will be expected to plan and evaluate sessions, organise resources, and work collaboratively with school staff and colleagues to ensure positive outcomes for each child and young person.</p><p>Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. <p><strong>Grade 7 Instructor Level 1 and Grade 8 Instructor Level 2.</strong></p><p>White Hall Outdoor Education Centre is seeking passionate and experienced outdoor activity instructors to join our dynamic team. As a relief instructor you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality outdoor education packages to young people in Derbyshire.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Deliver engaging outdoor education packages to young people in Derbyshire, providing them with valuable learning experiences.</li><li>Facilitate activity courses, ensuring that all participants are safe and actively involved.</li><li>Assist in the organisation, maintenance, and regular checking of equipment to ensure its safety and proper functioning.</li><li>Uphold safety protocols and standards, including safeguarding, inclusivity and diversity, and GDPR, ensuring a safe environment for all participants.</li><li>Actively engage with young people, fostering their personal and social development through outdoor education.</li></ul><p><strong> Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Enthusiasm for the outdoors, working with young people, and personal and professional development.</li><li>Significant experience in outdoor education, with a focus on rock climbing, caving, canoeing, mountain biking, and hill/mountain walking.</li><li>Nationally recognised governing body qualifications (NGB) in the aforementioned outdoor activities, a minimum of the following:</li><li>Level 1 Instructors: 1 NGB + 1 training in the following (or equivalent): RCI, LCMLA level 1, MIAS level 2, HML, Paddlesport Instructor.</li><li>Level 2 Instructors: 4 NGBs &amp; D1 minibus entitlement</li><li>Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with young people, staff, and external stakeholders.</li><li>A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and ensuring the well-being of all participants.</li></ul><p><strong> Benefits:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive salary with incremental annual increases for 4 years.</li><li>The chance to work in a stunning natural setting and inspire young people through outdoor experiences.</li><li>A supportive and collaborative work environment with a passionate team.</li></ul><p>Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
