We have an exciting opportunity available for a Young Expert to join our friendly team at Wokingham Borough Council on a casual basis.&nbsp;&nbsp;
You will need to be between the ages of 18-24 and should be a care experienced young person who has been in the care of Wokingham Borough Council.&nbsp;
As a Young Expert, you will advocate for children and young people in Wokingham, using your perspective and experience of the service.&nbsp;
This role will play an important part in making sure that our work focuses on listening to and acting on what local children and young people say is important to them.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Children and young people have a right to be heard!&nbsp;
You will be part of the participation team and will work alongside commissioners and other staff in children’s services to help design plans and services for children and young people.
You will&nbsp;help to ensure services are making a difference to the lives of local children and young people, and gain skills for the future.&nbsp;

This is a casual contract, hours are flexible dependant on requirements and your existing commitments.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Job role:&nbsp;&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Helping colleagues by looking at and giving feedback on the quality of certain services that Wokingham Borough Council use.</li>
<li>Helping colleagues by giving feedback on council plans and strategies by looking over existing work and providing suggestions for improvements.</li>
<li>Helping in the hiring of new staff by being sat on interview panels and sharing your thoughts on the candidates.</li>
<li>Helping in interviewing organisations that want to provide local services to young people before they are hired.</li>
<li>Making sure the services we provide are young person friendly</li>
<li>Thinking of ideas of how to improve the way professionals like social workers and other colleagues work with young people in the area so that it’s more children and young person friendly.</li>
<li>This role will also give you the opportunity to bring your own ideas along. So if there is any area of work or project you think we have missed, then let us know in your application.&nbsp;</li>

What we are looking for:

<li>You should be a care experienced young person who has been in the care of Wokingham Borough Council, aged between 18-24</li>
<li>Good written and verbal communication skills in English.</li>
<li>Knowledge and experience of using a computer.</li>
<li>Able to work with other young experts in a team.</li>
<li>Good organisational skills.&nbsp;</li>

Promise Inclusion is a local charity working with people with a learning disability and those with an autism spectrum condition, their carers and families.&nbsp;&nbsp;
We have a vacancy for a Youth Club Playworker working with young people with learning disabilities between the ages of 13 (year 9) and 19. The club runs on a Wednesday evening at Addington School, Woodley, term time. You will take direction from the club coordinator to help plan and supervise indoor and outdoor activities, set up the room and to help tidy away at the end of the session, attend meetings and training as required.&nbsp;
We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated people to join our team.&nbsp; Experience of working in similar positions is desirable, but training will be given for&nbsp;the successful applicant.&nbsp; Our office base is now in Wokingham.
