We are looking for a professionally qualified Youth Work practitioner (JNC Recognised). Or A candidate who is willing and has the commitment to undertake a 3-year distance learning course at Level 6) (This is via the apprenticeship levy fund). Whilst being able to deliver to the role specification.(The Youth Service will provide one day a week to support the training above, all other requirements ie, assignments, will be undertaken in your own time).Candidates must have proven experience of managing Centre Based Youth Work or similar and experience of managing a team, ie Youth Workers, Tutors, Volunteers.The primary focus is to manage and deliver the development and implementation of specific strategies, curriculum / programmes, monitoring and evaluating procedures, to ensure effective delivery of good quality youth work practice is developed, implemented and maintained, including working with vulnerable young people. Ie young people, known to Social Care, Youth Justice, those with disabilities/learning difficulties, aged 11 -19 (up to 25 years with learning disabilities/difficulties).The candidate will be responsible for health &amp; safety, fire safety and risk management processes, including key building responsibilities in the Youth Centre.The candidate must be able to partner and liaise with community groups and multi agency teams to increase the opportunity and offer to young people. Including being creative and proactive in applying for grant/funding opportunities and managing the Youth Centre’s resources and budget requirements.You will also be working in a range of settings including, Youth Centre’s, schools and outreach work.You will be required to work a flexible timetable during the day, after school and evening sessions in line with JNC terms &amp; conditions. As an IV, you’ll be a consistent, caring adult outside their professional network - someone who chooses to be there, just for them.This is a long-term role, and we ask volunteers to commit to at least two years to help build a strong, stable relationship.We’re especially keen to hear from volunteers based in or near London and Kent, where many of our young people live.Why it mattersYoung people in care often face instability and frequent change.
