Working with young people aged between 11yrs -19 years, in a youth club setting. You will encourage young people’s participation in their club and in planning and running activities with them. Building relationships with these young people, by being a good listener, listening to what the young people want from the activities as well as listening to their issues and sign posting them on to other services as and when required. You will be expected to support the work under the direction of the Youth Club Manager. Your duties could include, sport, dance, participation in art, music, drama, discussions, and cooking with young people to name but a few, also off-site activities to include day trips and residentials. This successful candidate for this post will be expected to work across all areas of the youth club including the learning needs provision. Skills: 1. Your primary role will be the delivery of water sports and land-based outdoor adventurous activities and courses at the newly refurbished Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre.&nbsp;
CLAC now has a 78-hectare marine lake, a health and fitness suite, two fitness studios, meeting rooms and a newly opened Bunk Barn which can accommodate 40 guests. As well as being next door to the recently opened Lake House hotel and bistro, this facility is one of Sefton’s primary assets situated in the stunning Crosby Coastal Park area of Sefton, Merseyside.
As a member of the coaching team, you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality sessions and courses, and the facilitation of our Pay &amp; Play hire. We are looking for enthusiastic instructors/coaches, who are passionate about the benefits of the outdoor experience and can deliver safe and fun sessions. In addition to activity delivery, you will be required to assist in the general running of a busy leisure and outdoor activity Centre eg equipment storage and maintenance.&nbsp;
Our current activities include canoeing, kayaking, sailing, raft building, bell boating, team building and archery and more are in the pipeline. Whether you're new to the industry or an old hand, if you have qualifications and/or experience in these activities, are a team player and an excellent communicator, and can adapt your style to work with different age groups and a diverse variety of people, we'd like to hear from you.&nbsp;

Contract: PermanentWe have vacancies in the following locations: Three Rivers, Hertsmere, Dacorum, Broxbourne, East Herts, Welwyn Hatfield, North Herts and Stevenage.Are you passionate about helping young people develop the skills and confidence they need to get the best start in life?Are you energetic and creative with skills and knowledge to share?Our excellent training and ongoing support will turn your passion into expertise that can change lives.<h4>About the Team</h4>You will be in one of the 10 Services for Young People district teams and will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the prospects of young people.Working with young people locally aged 11 to 17 in groups of 12-25, many of whom face challenges in their home life, education or local community, you’ll help us deliver targeted prevention and early interventions, informal education opportunities and develop their skills. &nbsp;Supported by qualified and experienced staff, you will be a key member of our team supporting the delivery of a diverse range of curriculum programmes including independent living skills and emotional wellbeing, to supporting young people in staying away from crime, anti-social behaviour and offering guidance on relationships and sexual health.<h4>About the role</h4>Our sessions run for 2.5 hours and typically evenings Monday – Saturday during term time which depending on the weekly hours you can commit to could be the following:<ul><li>5 hours = 2 sessions a week</li><li>7.5 hours = 3 sessions a week</li><li>10 hours = 4 sessions a week</li></ul>We’re looking for people from a wide variety of backgrounds who have worked with Children and/or Young People in a voluntary or paid capacity.Additionally, we are keen to hear from those who have skills to share in areas such as sports, outdoor learning, art &amp; crafts, media, music, health as a tool to establish a relationship and engagement with our young people.If you’re passionate about working with young people, keen to learn, have good communication skills and are a team player, you’ll fit right in to our friendly, supportive and collaborative working environment.Whilst a driving license is not essential some of our locations can be a little challenging on public transport so a car and license would be preferrable. In return, amongst many benefits and training Hertfordshire can offer you, we will offer you opportunities to develop your youth work practice.<h4>About you</h4>Essential:<ul><li>Willingness and ability to work regular weekly evening sessions including Fridays.</li><li>Having worked or currently working in a role with children and/of Young People (paid or voluntary capacity)</li><li>Ability to develop professional relationships with young people and vulnerable young adults.</li><li>Good knowledge, interests, skills or training that would enable you to contribute to positive informal educational activities with young people and vulnerable young adults.</li><li>Understanding of the key issues which young people and vulnerable young adults face and the ability to identify their needs.</li><li>Experience of working as a member of a team and evidence of successful contributions you have made to a team's work.</li><li>Willingness and ability to complete the compulsory Certificate in Youth Work, a commitment to undertake ongoing professional development and to put what you learn into practice.</li><li>An understanding of equal opportunities and knowledge of how you would put that into practice.</li></ul>Desirable:<ul><li>Skills in areas such as sports, outdoor learning, art &amp; crafts, media, music, health</li><li>Full UK driving licence &amp; regular access to a vehicle.</li></ul>We welcome applications from candidates who currently reside in the UK with established proof of right to work documentation.
