Job summary

Social Security Scotland are offering Modern Apprenticeships across various departments of the agency. As a Modern Apprentice, you will receive training and support to achieve your qualification while gaining valuable experience in an organisation responsible for delivering social security benefits across Scotland.

Modern Apprentices will support a range of business areas across the organisation. You may be speaking to our clients over the telephone in Client Services Delivery, helping to maintain our offices in Place Services, or working in one of our other many divisions.

Please note that start dates for these positions are not yet confirmed. This recruitment campaign is being conducted on a recruit-to-reserve basis to support anticipated future resourcing needs. Candidates who are successful at selection will be placed on a reserve list in merit order.

Responsibilities

Typical role responsibilities can include:

  • Providing administrative support to a team as required.
  • Working within a fast-paced environment to complete tasks with attention to detail to provide the best service possible.
  • Working collaboratively with peer colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to how we deliver our work.
  • Speaking to our clients, colleagues or stakeholders through both incoming and outgoing calls.
  • Answering queries via email.
  • Carrying out administrative tasks using various computer systems.
  • Being accountable for ensuring the work allocated to you is completed on time and accurately.
  • Organising and preparing meetings and events, prioritising tasks and coordinating activity.
