Dairy Farm Liaison Manager - North Wales & Midlands

locationUnited Kingdom
ExpiresExpires: Expiring in less than 3 weeks
Full time

Job summary

Covering North Wales and the Midlands we are currently recruiting for a Dairy Farm Liaison Manager on a fixed term contract until September 2027. A full UK driving licence is essential along with the flexibility to travel.

This role is funded by the UK Dairy Carbon Network project with the aim of testing multiple carbon-saving measures on commercial British dairy farms throughout the UK. The role has responsibility for collecting and monitoring data for specific regional farms, building trusting relationships with participating farmers and research partners to help facilitate the delivery of the programme.

We are looking for an engaging and motivated individual with specialist knowledge in the dairy sector to work with and facilitate groups of farmers and industry representatives. Further knowledge of mitigation strategies for greenhouse gas emissions is also required.

About AHDB

We are the independent, impartial public body that unlocks success in British agriculture. Funded by a levy from over 100,000 British producers in the beef, lamb, pork, dairy and cereals sectors, we support and champion farmers, growers and processors, often where no one else can or will.

We share the expert, evidence-based research and reports that inform on-farm decision making. We promote British produce to the UK public through domestic marketing campaigns, and we identify and open new global export opportunities to help farm businesses grow.

We help levy payers learn more, sell more and export more to remain sustainable and profitable. Together, we deliver the insights, the influence and the impact that farmers need.

Job description

  • Engage with project stakeholders for cohesive working
  • Collect and monitor on-farm physical data
  • Liaise and be the point of contact for the research institutes with the farmer
  • Proactively encourage and monitor the implementation of on-farm mitigation, using motivational techniques to keep farmer interest and progress
  • Provide accurate and appropriate reporting information for the monitoring and evaluation of the project activity and outputs
  • Deliver project activity within the budget allocated and provide accurate and appropriate accountability to the Senior GB Farm Networks Manager
