Community Inclusion Advisor - 4 Roles

Education
£53,076 per year

Job Description

Connect services and empower families to give every young child the best start in life.

As our Community Inclusion Advisor, you’ll play a vital role connecting early years services across the borough, helping young children thrive and building strong foundations for local families. This is a three-year fixed term contract.

We are seeking to appoint four candidates: two who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and two qualified Speech and Language Therapists.

Working Style

You’ll be based in the Borough for 5 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you’re working across early years settings, Best Start Family Hubs or in the office, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.

What you’ll be doing

Your focus will be on delivering our Best Start in Life priorities, making sure young children and families receive seamless, joined-up support. On a typical day, you’ll move smoothly between strategic coordination and direct community engagement. You might visit a school, nursery or Family Hub, collaborate with health and social care partners, or host an evidence-based workshop for parents to strengthen the home learning environment.

You’ll lead efforts to improve Good Level of Development outcomes, supporting early learning, school readiness and positive transitions into Reception. A key part of your role involves bringing together schools, private, voluntary and independent providers and community partners to create clear, accessible pathways for local families.

You will also coach and guide early years practitioners, share best practice, use data to target improvement and champion inclusive practice for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

For further details, please review the Job Description and Person Specification

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring Qualified Teacher Status or a background as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, alongside an enhanced DBS check. You have significant experience in Early Years and a thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, child development and school readiness.

You’re skilled in using outcome data to target support, designing and delivering engaging workshops and embedding inclusive practice for children with SEND. You’re an approachable, warm and solution-focused communicator who knows how to build trust with families from all backgrounds, particularly those who may be less likely to access local services.

With experience in leadership or mentoring, you feel confident coaching staff, facilitating multi-agency discussions and managing competing priorities across diverse settings. Most importantly, you’re someone with a deep commitment to fairness, empathy and teamwork, ready to ensure every child and family feels supported.

Why join us

At RBKC, we’re all in – investing in our people, our communities and our future.

Working within our Outstanding-rated Children's Services, you’ll join a collaborative, highly respected team where your ideas are valued and your growth is supported. We will invest in your professional development, helping you build expertise in system leadership and early years delivery.

This role offers a unique opportunity to focus on early intervention and see the direct impact of your work every day as you strengthen family partnerships. Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll benefit from comprehensive wellbeing support and a work environment that genuinely values fairness, respect and continuous learning.

About us

Kensington and Chelsea is home to diverse communities, thriving businesses and unique local places. Everything we do is focused on supporting our residents, strengthening our approach and creating a fairer borough.

As a competent and caring Council, we take pride in our work every day, ensuring our services are delivered with care and competence. We listen to our residents, act with integrity and work together to build a borough that is greener, safer and fairer for all.

In this role, you’ll be a vital champion for young children – bringing a dedicated, hands-on mindset across our Family Hubs, schools, early years settings and offices. Coordinating multi-agency partners and engaging families facing complex challenges isn't always smooth sailing, but every ounce of effort pays off when children gain the skills they need to flourish and local families get the best start in life.
