Curriculum Support Assistant - Adult Community Learning

As a Curriculum Support Assistant at Islington Adult Community Learning, you will play a pivotal role in supporting learning, teaching, recruitment and the general smooth and efficient delivery of this education service. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is making a real difference in the community.

What you’ll do

You’ll support the smooth running of the service and help the team to ensure that learners get the help that that they need to succeed. This will include:

  • Administering the service’s pastoral support provision
  • Providing administrative support for tutors and curriculum leaders
  • Assisting with the promotion and marketing of our courses
  • Helping to maintain provide resources for classes and events
  • Being the first point of contact for enquiries, and the face of the service at various learning centres across the borough
  • Playing an active role in learner enrolment and data entry

What you’ll bring

You will have experience of providing excellent customer-facing support combined with administrative duties. You will also:

  • Be a proactive member of the team
  • Be able to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
  • Be self-directed when required and be able to take the initiative and solve problems
  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Be able to enter data with a high degree of accuracy and have good IT skills

Ideally you will also have experience of providing support to adult learners; if you have an IAG qualification this will be especially welcome.

The team you’ll join

Reporting to the Adult Learning Manager, you will also work closely with our team of friendly, experienced tutors and curriculum leaders.The role sits within Inclusive Economy and Jobs in the Community Wealth Building directorate.
