Are you passionate about delivering high-quality housing services and making a real impact in people’s lives? Crawley Homes is looking for dedicated and proactive Housing Officers to join our dynamic Tenancy Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a front-line role, supporting tenants and managing a wide range of housing responsibilities, including tenancy management, income recovery, voids, and estate services.

As a Housing Officer, you’ll be responsible for:

managing tenancies, including changes, terminations, and mutual exchanges
supporting tenants with income management and arrears recovery
letting void properties efficiently and sensitively
conducting property inspections and estate management duties
liaising with tenants, contractors, and partner agencies
promoting community development and responding to safeguarding concerns

We’re seeking individuals who:

are excellent communicators with strong negotiation and organisational skills
have a good understanding of housing law, welfare benefits, and safeguarding
are customer-focused and committed to continuous service improvement
can work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends in response to the requirements of the post
hold a full and current UK driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle

There are two full-time positions available (37 hours per week, five days) and one part-time position available (29.6 hours per week, four days). The salary for the part-time position will be paid on a pro-rata basis. Crawley is a great place to work, with a thriving business district and excellent transport connections including nearby Gatwick Airport. We are based in our modern Town Hall which opened in 2023 and is located a short walk from the town centre and railway station.

Additional information

A full and current UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle (mileage payable).

It will be necessary to carry out some evening or weekend work for the purpose of tenant consultation or other tenancy matters.

This post is subject to the satisfactory clearance of a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
