Internal Audit’s job is to make sure our risk management, governance and internal controls are best in class. We’re here to help ensure the Council services are as good as they can be and serve the residents and other stakeholder as best we can.

That means spotting risks before they become problems, making recommendations that matter, and helping keep the Council fair, trusted and future‑proof. This is a great opportunity to start your career as an internal audit professional. You will be an integral part of the internal audit and wider assurance team and be fully supported in undertaking an internal audit qualification to progress in the internal auditprofession.

As an Internal Auditor, you will play a key role to influence how the Council improves its risk management and internal control process, being a key influencer for services. Working as part of the Internal Audit Team, you will support the delivery of the Council's internal audit programme, ensuring adequate controls are in place across Council departments including areas such as the management of assets, adequate oversight and supervision, strong financial management and compliance with the law and local policies and procedures.
