The Opportunity:

Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for an Applications Specialist to join the Technology Department. As an Applications Specialist with BTP, you will provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support, maintenance and ongoing improvement for assigned business applications, ensuring critical systems remain operational while supporting upgrades, enhancements and new technology implementations.

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing 2nd and 3rd line technical support and maintenance for assigned production business applications.
  • Investigating and resolving application incidents and service requests while monitoring system performance.
  • Supporting business application projects, including upgrades, decommissioning activities and implementation of new systems.
  • Collaborating with solution architects, database administrators, cyber security specialists and third-party suppliers to deliver effective application support.

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Experience in an analytical applications role, supporting core business applications within a 24x7 environment.
  • Experience of application management tools and techniques and working across multiple technical teams.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, with experience of application administration and support.
  • ITIL Foundation accreditation (or higher) and HND level education or equivalent experience.
