Job description

HMPPS Band 3

The National Crime in Prison Team (CiP) is dedicated to improving justice outcomes for crimes committed within the prison estate. The objective of the team is to engage HMPPS staff in crime in prison processes by promoting a cultural change in how crime in prison is viewed and managed, whilst cultivating and strengthening relationships between HMPPS and law enforcement. The intention is to build confidence in the ability to tackle crime appropriately via an effective victim support strategy and keep our prison communities safe from harm.

The Administrative Support is an integral and very important role supporting the innovative and dynamic work of the Crime in Prison team. This is a rare opportunity to join a devoted and inspired team, committed to tackling crime within the prison estate.

The post holder will provide administrative support to the Crime in Prison Team. Responsibilities include meeting support, collation of routine information, maintenance of databases, diary management and other ad hoc administrative tasks.

This is a national role with the expectation that the job holder will travel as required for meetings and visits to prison establishments nationally, this may include occasional overnight stays.
