Job summary

The role will support the Diversity and Inclusion Lead to deliver our internal Diversity and Inclusion ambitions and action plans, provide expert advice on all Diversity and Inclusion related matters, with the aim of building an inclusive culture that drives engagement and allows people to thrive and achieve their full potential at work

The role will help ensure that people’s working environment at Acas is positive, and we achieve our goal of ‘making working life better’ for our own staff as well as for our customers. The role will also focus on developing Acas’ Diversity and Inclusion offer and supporting our managers, employees and networks to deliver an environment where people can thrive.

Job description

The main accountabilities of this role are to –

  • Support the development and implementation of the Diversity and Inclusion action plans
  • Provide practical support and signposting to individuals needing workplace adjustments and maintain service level agreements on a shared mailbox.
  • Work with the Diversity and Inclusion Lead to set the agenda for the Diversity and Inclusion Forum, liaise with Stakeholders to ensure papers, minutes and actions are sent out promptly and tracked.
  • Organise National Inclusion Week activity, including workshops, focus groups, networking events and surveys – these may be online or in person.
  • Provide support our four Employee Networks and Fair Treatment Contacts.
  • Maintain various HR systems and databases with accurate and up to date information to enable effective audit, collation of management information and reporting.
  • Upload, edit and maintain our SharePoint site, to ensure we have up-to-date information.
  • Be a champion for best practice and identify opportunities for improvements in relation to Diversity and Inclusion to maximise employee support and experience.
  • Build strong working relationships with managers, employee networks and our senior leadership teams.
  • Support wider HR and people projects across Acas where needed.

As part of the application process, you will be asked to complete:

  • An evidence-based Personal Statement reflecting the essential Experience requirements as listed in the Person Specification section of this advert. Your Personal Statement should be no longer than 750 words. It should avoid generalised assertions, instead including specific examples of achievements, explaining the degree of challenge, what you did and the outcomes.
  • A 250-word statement on the Managing a Quality Service Behaviour.

Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift of all the above requirements or progressed straight to assessment/interview.

Interview Details

If you have successfully passed sift at the application stage, you will be invited to an interview which will either take place via Microsoft Teams, and which will take place from the week commencing 24 August 2026.

It will be a Behaviour based interview.

  • The following Behaviours will be assessed at Interview – Managing a Quality Service, Delivering at Pace, Communicating and Influencing and Working Together.

A reserve list will be created for this position; this means that if you have passed the interview, but we cannot immediately offer you this position, you will be placed on a reserve list for 12 months and may be considered for similar positions during that time.
