Brent is one of the most diverse boroughs in the country, with communities, ideas and experiences from across the world helping to shape who we are. Working here means joining a council that is focused on fairness, open to new thinking and committed to improving life for local people. About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team managing and delivering low carbon heat networks in the borough.

Brent currently operates over 2,000 customer heat connections, with this number expected to grow to more than 4,000 by 2028. Heat networks will play a significant role in helping the council to achieve its net zero ambitions.

The post holder will lead the delivery of the South Kilburn District Heat Network (SKDHN), a flagship scheme supporting the regeneration of South Kilburn and providing affordable, low-carbon heat to up to 3,000 homes.

The post will play a key role in ensuring high standards of project management, stakeholder engagement and service delivery, while embedding sustainability, equality and customer care principles throughout the project lifecycle.

About you

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable individual with a strong record of managing and delivering complex energy or infrastructure projects, preferably within a local government or regeneration context. You should demonstrate strong financial and commercial awareness, with experience managing contractor performance, project budgets and risks to ensure successful project delivery.

You will bring, or be prepared to rapidly develop, a good understanding of heat networks, relevant regulations and consumer protection principles.

You will be an effective communicator, confident in working with a wide range of stakeholders including consultants, contractors, residents and senior decision-makers, and will be committed to maintaining high standards of customer care and stakeholder engagement.

Why join us?

We know people do their best work when they feel valued, supported and able to grow. At Brent, you will benefit from:

  • 27 days’ annual leave, rising with length of service, plus bank holidays
