Summary The job holder will be working with prisoners, people on probation and staff and applying their competence in psychology to reduce the risk of harm and of re-offending by undertaking a range of work including risk assessment of prisoners, conducting research, providing consultancy and delivering training for staff and assessment and interventions for offenders. This job holder will be able to provide designated support and supervision to trainee psychologists. This is non-operational offender facing job with line management responsibilities. This role is non-rotational. Responsibilities, Activities and Duties The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties: <ul><li>Offer authoritative professional advice on targets and objectives for relevant offenders and advise on the best location for those offenders (both within the establishment or relocation to another category establishment) </li><li>Offer professional opinion to teams conducting reports e.g. lifer reports, parole reports </li><li>Develop strategy and plans of activity for some areas of operation e.g. manages the organisation of relevant programme assessments or manages assessment and interviews those with an indeterminate sentence </li><li>Provide consultancy support to colleagues such as the SMT or other teams in relation to psychology services and outcomes </li><li>Conduct relevant research including data gathering and analysis </li><li>Responsible for providing supervision to trainee forensic psychology staff </li><li>Provide training, mentoring and support to trainee psychologists and other staff (e.g. interventions staff) </li><li>Can be required to provide professional (designated) supervision of trainee’s e.g. professional Supervision to ensure that a trainee is able to develop through the key steps towards chartered and registered status </li><li>Ensure staff are developed in accordance with key competencies and gateways and ensuring consistency across the team in the application of policies and procedures affecting staff and prisoners </li><li>Lead on risk assessment and resulting risk management </li><li>Participate in risk assessment of offenders to determine their risk of harm to self, others and the risk of reoffending. </li><li>May undertake Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork (ACCT) and self-harm assessments </li><li>Can be required to deliver and/or oversee the quality of programmes (treatment management). These will be of the more complex type requiring such qualified input </li><li>Provide consultancy role on specialist area e.g. Working with those convicted of Sexual Offending Strategy or Indeterminate Sentenced Prisoners (ISP) Strategy </li><li>Act as a negotiation adviser where suitable and competence has been demonstrated </li><li>Act as a “professional witness” in parole board hearings, multi-agency meetings, and other formal settings where psychology input is required. GIS and Spatial Data Analyst

Working as a member of the parking services team, the post holder will be a front-line operative for the council assisting members of the public with information, offering advice and guidance on parking restrictions. Ensuring correct use of both off-street and on-street parking spaces, in accordance with the relevant Parking Orders and Traffic Management Act 2004. Civil Enforcement Officers (CEO) will also be required to issue Penalty Charge Notices to vehicles parking in contravention of the parking regulations, which may incur some negative verbal interaction. Written reports will need to be completed by the post holder recording details of any incidents. On a daily basis CEO's will walk their allocated route, which could be up to 10/12 miles, assessing road signage and road lining for compliance purposes; informing their supervisor of any issues or concerns. CEO's must ensure all incidents are brought to the attention of the Supervisor immediately – providing written statements and reports. They may also need to attend court or adjudication panels when required, as well as to submit evidence when called upon. Medway Council's equipment procedures must be adhered to – ensuring that all equipment is given due care and protection, daily start of shift checks should be carried out for faults and damaged equipment to be immediately reported to the Supervisor. CEO's will be required to assist with the clearing of snow from Medway car park surfaces as directed, if the weather inhibits the issuing of Penalty Charge Notices.The post holder will work on a shift pattern basis to ensure that the parking service is operational 7 days per week, from 07:00am - 01:00am hours. Working hours will be permanent twilight shifts- 20 hours per week, between 9pm to 1am, covering Monday to Sunday (including bank holidays).A uniform is required to be worn for this role at all times. The service provides quality assurance activity; supports students, apprentices, and practice educators; coordinates/facilitates the learning and development offer (including in-house delivery of 75% of learning opportunities); Signs of Safety practice development (and training); NQSW recruitment and support; amplifying the voices of children, young people, and families via our participation strategy and plan; workforce recruitment and retention; 1:1 and team support around practice development; staff care and wellbeing and so much more!Each Practice Development Lead is responsible for a particular area of practice and all are involved in facilitating training, undertaking quality assurance activity, 1:1 practice support, and are linked to different services for support and development. **Applications without a personal statement linked to the person spec will not be considered** Interviews will be held on 12th &amp; 13th February 2026Our offerWe offer an <a href="https://www.medway.gov.uk/info/200257/our_childrens_social_care_staff_benefits" target="_blank">excellent recruitment package</a>, manageable workloads, and opportunities to access a range of <a href="https://www.medway.gov.uk/info/200255/childrens_social_worker_jobs/759/professional_development" target="_blank">professional development and support</a> including -<ul><li>A basic salary of £51,131 to £55,607 per annum</li><li>An annual <a href="https://www.medway.gov.uk/info/200258/pay_and_rewards" target="_blank">market allowance</a> of £7,000 per annum (payable in monthly payments)</li><li>A <a href="https://www.medway.gov.uk/info/200258/pay_and_rewards" target="_blank">retention payment</a> of £3,000.
