About the team

We are seeking three experienced HR Officers to join our dynamic Business Partner Team. Each position will support one of the following service areas:

  • Adult Care Services
  • Resources and Growth & Environment
  • Community Protection

Working closely with managers and leaders within your allocated service area, you will provide expert HR advice and support managers to deliver positive workforce outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied portfolio including employee relations, organisational change, workforce planning and service improvement initiatives.

We are looking for proactive and solution-focused HR professionals with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to influence and support managers at all levels. You will be confident in managing complex employee relations issues, analysing workforce data to identify trends and opportunities, and delivering practical people solutions that support organisational objectives.

The successful candidates will be organised, adaptable and able to manage competing priorities while working both independently and as part of a collaborative team. A commitment to excellent customer service, continuous improvement, professionalism and maintaining confidentiality is essential.

About the role

You will need to be highly organised, resilient, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Key objectives include:

  • Supporting the Senior HR Officer and HR Manager to deliver a high-quality HR service and work collaboratively across the team.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance management, probation and ill health cases.
  • Supporting organisational change programmes, including restructures, service redesign and TUPE transfers.
  • Building strong relationships with managers and leaders, providing practical advice and supporting effective people management decisions.
  • Analysing workforce data and trends to identify risks, opportunities and solutions that support workforce planning and service improvement.
  • Supporting managers to address workforce challenges, including attendance, retention, engagement and performance, through early intervention and practical solutions.
  • Contributing to HR projects, workforce initiatives and continuous improvement activity that enhances employee experience and organisational effectiveness.

About you

Essential:

  • Strong HR experience with advising on a broad range of employee relations matters and employment legislation.
  • Experience of supporting organisational change activity, including restructures and/or TUPE transfers.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and translate insight into practical recommendations and solutions.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and positive working relationships at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage complex HR issues and provide professional HR support.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and exercise sound professional judgement.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable:

  • Experience of workforce planning, organisational development or culture change initiatives.
  • Experience working within the public sector or another large, complex organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive HR team where you will gain exposure to a varied portfolio of work, including complex employee relations, organisational change, workforce planning and service improvement. You'll play a key role in supporting managers and leaders while helping shape a positive and high-performing workplace culture. In return, you'll join a supportive and collaborative team committed to professional development, innovation and excellent customer service.

If you are a highly motivated, adaptable individual ready to take on new challenges, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

LGR is one of the biggest changes we will face in a generation. It will reshape how we work and how services are organised and gives us a real opportunity to build something better. To find out more, visit https://www.hertfordshire-lgr.co.uk/
