Caseworker - Personalised Education Service

Salary: BR9 - £32,512 - £34,281

Hours: Monday–Friday, 36 hours per week (Term Time Only – 39 weeks)

Location: Hybrid working, including:

· 2 days at our tuition centre in St Paul’s Cray (The Link, Midfield Way) and/or Bromley Civic Centre (can be more during exam time)

· Remaining time working from home and travelling across the borough, including home visits

Personalised Education Service

Are you passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people? Do you believe that, with the right support, every child has the potential to succeed? Due to service expansion, we are seeking two full-time Caseworkers to join our Personalised Education Service.

We are a statutory service providing short-term, interim education for children of statutory school age (5–16) who are unable to attend school due to medical needs (physical and mental health), and children with an EHCP who are awaiting a suitable education placement. We deliver bespoke tuition in a range of settings, including our Orpington centre, online (via Teams), libraries, community venues, and, where medically required, in the child’s home.

Our caseworking team support children and their families whilst they are under our service. They work with the child and family to identify the barriers to accessing full-time education and work with other agencies to support the child to overcome these. The aim of the case working team is to support children back into full-time provision. This is a rewarding opportunity to work creatively, collaboratively, and compassionately with children and young people (CYP) who have SEND, SEMH, and/or medical needs. Some of the CYP you support will be accessing personalised tuition through their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

About the Role

As a Caseworker, you will manage a diverse caseload of children and young people with complex and evolving needs, who have often had a challenging educational journey. Many will have medical needs alongside SEN, including a diagnosis of autism; ADHD; and/or SEMH. You will play a key role in supporting CYP to overcome barriers and successfully access full-time education.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage a caseload of CYP, responding flexibly to changing needs

· Identify barriers to education and develop clear, outcome-focused plans

· Lead multi-agency working, including acting as Lead Professional and coordinating 6-weekly reviews

· Work collaboratively with families, schools, and partner agencies

· Monitor provision, review progress, and provide support and challenge where needed

· Produce high-quality reports and present recommendations to panels

· Maintain high standards of safeguarding, professionalism, and confidentiality

This role requires strong organisational skills, resilience, and a proactive approach. You will be well supported by a collaborative team that shares learning, solves problems together, and celebrates success.

Why join us?

· Be part of a supportive, skilled, and values-driven team

· Make a meaningful difference to children, young people, and their families

· Engage in multi-agency working across education, health, and social care

· Benefit from a flexible, hybrid working

· Contribute to a service that prioritises innovation, safeguarding, and inclusion

We are looking for someone who:

· Has experience working with children and young people in education or a related setting

· Has a good understanding of SEN, SEMH, and safeguarding

· Communicates confidently with families and professionals

· Demonstrates professional curiosity and can appropriately challenge stakeholders

· Can manage a busy and fast-paced workload

· Is committed to person-centred, inclusive education

· Is enthusiastic, reflective, and keen to contribute to service development

  • Is reflective, proactive, and motivated to contribute to service development

You will be comfortable working independently (including lone working) and as part of a team.
