Meeting the housing needs of our residents is a key priority for Sefton and we have an exciting programme of growth and regeneration initiatives to ensure that everyone has the high quality home that they need.

This is a pivotal role at the heart of these ambitions. You will manage housing growth and housing led regeneration projects, with a particular responsibility for ensuring housing needs are met through housing developed by Registered Social Landlords operating in the borough.

You will play a key role in liaising with external agencies such as the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Homes England to help progress projects and secure funding and support where this might be needed.

This role requires someone with experience of housing development at scale, who is a self starter and able to prioritise their own workload whilst working as part of a team. The person we are looking for thrives in a dynamic environment, can anticipate needs and an organised approach to managing different priorities.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with partners to discuss their development programmes and steering this in line with the housing requirements of residents and the current and future needs of Sefton
  • Working closely with planning colleagues to monitor housing delivery, and a future pipeline of development sites
  • Working with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Homes England, Registered Providers and other Local Authorities to promote and progress housing development projects in the borough
  • Work as part of a team of officers working on the same objectives, supporting delivery of housing growth priorities through a range of different models

This role suits someone who is passionate about housing growth and regeneration and delivering excellent housing outcomes for residents, committed to maintaining high standards, and confident working both independently and collaboratively to support colleagues.

The closing date for this vacancy is Sunday 26th July 2026 (or earlier in the event of high volume of applications being received).

Provisional interview dates are Tuesday 11th August 2026.

  • £47,181 - £50,269 per year
