We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Screen Practice Tutor. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and shaping the development of screen practice within the curriculum, ensuring that teaching remains innovative, industry-informed, and responsive to emerging trends in film, television, and digital media. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Drama Department, they will contribute to curriculum enhancement, student development, and the broader academic and creative life of the department and school.

Our training is highly regarded in the industry for the passion, quality and rigour of the teaching: renowned for the combined focus on craft training, care and attention to individual student development, and the strong ensemble ethic shared by staff and students. We place inclusive, pioneering and progressive practice at the core of our training.

The role spans all three years of the programme. In Years 1 and 2, the postholder will deliver practical classes and seminars in screen practice, taking responsibility for the planning, delivery, and assessment of learning activities. This includes designing and leading screen practice sessions and overseeing all associated assessment processes.

In Year 3, the postholder will work closely with the Head of Acting and colleagues across Production and Design to support the development and delivery of student screen productions, helping to ensure a high-quality and professionally relevant learning experience.

We are seeking someone with current working industry experience and excellent teaching skills to contribute to this area of practice to ensure our students are developing the craft and experience they need to flourish. We are ambitious to develop our teaching and learning in acting for camera, self-taping, live streaming and screen project work. In addition, as online platforms, gaming, VR and hybrid practice continue to play a fundamental role in the innovation and delivery of the arts, it is crucial our students have an experience of working at the forefront of these technologies.
