Hybrid Working

Ready to make a real difference? Join us at the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) as our Relationship Manager (Guidance & Education Systems). This is your chance to play a meaningful role in helping people across the UK build stronger financial futures and to do it as part of a supportive, energetic team.

Why This Role Matters

The Guidance and Education Systems unit at MaPS aims to improve the quality of money guidance being delivered through others to those in need across the UK. We do this by providing free professional development to organisations and practitioners who talk to their customers and service users about money. A key part of this work is to bring on board, support and maintain relationships with our growing number of Guidance and Education System partners across the UK.

The Relationship Manager is responsible for managing a defined portfolio of Guidance and Education System partners, bringing sector insight and specialist support to drive measurable improvement in the reach, quality and sustainability of money guidance through partners. The role supports the development, growth and effective management of partner relationships, helping partners to engage with learning, embed money guidance into their services, and use insight to improve delivery and impact.

You’ll join a team that’s passionate, collaborative, and driven by the belief that financial confidence should be something everyone can access.

Job description

What You’ll Be Doing

The Relationship Manager (Guidance & Education Systems) will report directly to Strategic Partnerships Lead and will be responsible for:

  • Manage a defined portfolio of Guidance and Education System partner relationships, developing proportionate partnership and engagement plans that deepen participation, increase uptake of learning opportunities and deliver shared outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with partner contacts and wider stakeholders, understanding their operating context, priorities and constraints so that engagement is tailored, relevant and value-adding.
  • Maintain strong understanding of relevant partner sectors, such as housing, welfare or health, alongside awareness of relevant policy levers, commissioning, practice and delivery developments, so that engagement is responsive to partner priorities, emerging opportunities and barriers.
  • Provide ongoing, in-depth partner support and guidance, helping organisations identify opportunities to strengthen services, improve delivery and embed good money guidance into existing services.
  • Work with the Senior Relationship Manager to support portfolio planning, segmentation and prioritisation, ensuring engagement is focused where it can deliver the greatest reach, quality improvement and impact.
  • Ensure partners are aware of and engaged with relevant learning opportunities, positioning offers to sector needs and partner maturity and proactively driving uptake.
  • Represent MaPS and the Guidance and Education System at partner meetings and relevant events, identifying opportunities to extend reach through new partnerships and increased engagement.
  • Capture, synthesise and report partner insight and feedback, including barriers, emerging needs, good practice and opportunities for improvement, to inform programme development, sector propositions and continuous improvement.
  • Track portfolio activity and progress, using data, feedback and management information to inform priorities, monitor engagement and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Contribute to a joined-up approach to partner management by working closely with the Senior Relationship Manager, UK Partnerships team and internal colleagues to coordinate activity, manage risks and support effective partner journeys.
  • Role-model MaPS values of caring, connecting and transforming in all partner interactions, building trusting relationships and collaborating across teams to deliver positive outcomes.

  • Experience using insight, feedback and management information to inform priorities, monitor engagement, improve partner outcomes and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and matrix-working skills, with confidence engaging external stakeholders, adapting messages for different sector audiences and working across internal teams to deliver specialist, value adding support.
