    IT Technician (Gloucester)

Salary: £30,755 - £32,888 + wellbeing cash plan + pension scheme (LGPS) + additional Lift Schools benefits

Location: Cainscross Road, Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL5 4HE (with travel to other schools within the region when required)

    Hours: 37 hours per week

    Contract: Permanent

    Start date: ASAP

Help shape the future of technology in our schools

No two days are the same in this hands-on IT role.

We're looking for an IT Technician to join our Technology Team in Gloucestershire, supporting five schools as they transition into Lift Schools. This is a unique opportunity to join us at an exciting point in our journey, helping to modernise technology and ensure every school has the digital tools needed to deliver an excellent education.

Based primarily at Marling School, you'll also provide IT support across:

    • Callowell Primary School
    • Berkeley Primary School
    • Camwoodfield Junior School
    • Hillview Primary School

You'll play a key role in supporting the migration of these schools into Lift Schools, working as part of a growing Technology Team as we invest in upgraded infrastructure, improved internet services and modern technology across the region.

Regular travel between schools is required, so you'll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. Mileage for travel between schools during the working day will be reimbursed.

    About the role

Working alongside fellow IT Technicians, Technology Support Officers and third-party partners, you'll provide responsive day-to-day technical support for colleagues and students while contributing to wider technology improvements across our schools.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Providing first and second-line IT support across multiple schools.
    • Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues.
    • Supporting Windows, Apple and Chrome devices.
    • Installing, maintaining and repairing laptops, Chromebooks and audio-visual equipment.
    • Supporting classroom technology, printing, telephony, CCTV and other key systems.
    • Assisting with network maintenance, software deployment and infrastructure upgrades.
    • Maintaining accurate asset records and support documentation.
    • Delivering excellent customer service and building positive relationships with school colleagues.

    About you

You'll enjoy solving technical problems, learning new technologies and helping others get the most from IT.

We're looking for someone who has:

    • Experience supporting hardware, software and operating systems.
    • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
    • Experience supporting audio-visual technology.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • The ability to work independently whilst managing a varied workload.
    • A proactive, organised and solution-focused approach.
    • A full UK driving licence.

Experience working in education would be an advantage, but it isn't essential. If you have the technical skills, curiosity and passion to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

    Who is Lift Schools?

We're a diverse and inclusive network of schools with one clear mission; to provide an excellent education to every child - in every classroom, every day. And we do this across each of our 59 schools. As with our students, we want our team to be empowered to do their best work, supported by the best leadership they've ever had.

We acknowledge and appreciate the exceptional efforts of everyone here in making this an incredible organisation.

    We offer you:

    • Comprehensive training: Access a wide range of developmental training to boost your career.
    • Generous benefits: From your pension plan to healthcare and financial support, we've got you covered.
    • Lifestyle perks: Enjoy discounted gym memberships and travel deals.

Closing Date: Sunday 9th July 2026

Interview date: Monday 17th August 2026
