An exciting opportunity has arisen in Sefton Council to appoint a 36-hour permanent cemetery operative role for grave digging and maintenance in our cemeteries team.
The role sits in the Burials and Cremations Service, within In House Operational Services based in Thornton Cemetery.
As part of the team in this role you will be responsible for site maintenance including but not limited to grass cutting litter picking, pruning, memorial maintenance, seasonal maintenance throughout the year etc.. and ensuring that all grave digging work is undertaken to the highest standards in line with Sefton Council policies and Job Description related to this role.. As a Cemetery Operative you will be tasked with ensuring site safety is always monitored and any issues reported to be resolved immediately as well as assisting with burials when required by the service.
This role also includes a requirement for basic machinery maintenance.
The Cemetery undertakes circa 600 burials per annum and provides a high-quality service to the bereaved.
This is an exciting time to join the burials and cremations service at Sefton as the service is now on a journey to become more digitally friendly and provide a more modern funeral service to the people of Sefton and surrounding areas.

What We’re Looking For

Job Title:&nbsp;Mental Health Recovery Worker
Location:&nbsp;Based in a residential property in Enfield (Nearest overground Enfield Town, Bus Routes available) Unfortunately there is no step free access at this service.&nbsp;
Salary:&nbsp;£27,000
Shift Pattern:&nbsp;37.5 per week Monday to Sunday on a rolling rota between 07:30 - 15:30, 13:00 - 21:00, this may also fall under bank holiday working as per the rota and further evenings.
About the role
Penrose Enfield is a vibrant care and rehabilitation service, offering 21 beds in a 24 hour supported accommodation to adults with complex mental health needs. You will join a team which consists of a Service Manager, Deputy Service Manager, a day team of 10, and a night team of 4. We are here to promote independence and give our residents the tools needed to fulfil their lives in the community independently.
As a Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will play a key role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery, reablement, and rehabilitation, providing person centred and trauma informed support in a psychologically informed environment (PIE), to empower residents to achieve their goals and improve their well-being. Here, you’ll support individuals transitioning from complex care or acute mental health services to a structured rehabilitation setting. Working closely with the mental health trust community rehabilitation team, you’ll help residents overcome challenging behaviour's and support medication compliance, making a real difference every day. Key Responsibilities&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Provide tailored support to residents/participants to help them achieve their personal goals and outcomes. This may involve contributing to and developing support plans, conducting risk assessments, participating in reviews, and attending case meetings.</li>
<li>Deliver all required aspects of the service efficiently and consistently. This includes welfare checks, support sessions, safeguarding monitoring, risk assessments, and involvement in training and development.</li>
<li>Ensure residents/participants fully understand their rights and responsibilities, and have access to appropriate tools, resources, and support networks to achieve their goals.</li>
<li>Help design, lead, and encourage participation in a range of projects, group sessions, and community-based activities.</li>
<li>Create an empowering and enabling environment where individuals are supported to make informed decisions and take control of their own lives.</li>
<li>Provide practical advice, emotional support, and life skills training to promote independence and resilience.</li>
</ul>

<li>Understanding of the needs of those who have various complex needs including mental health</li>
<li>Understand and experience in supporting low to medium mental health service users</li>
<li>Ability to use IT systems to record case notes, email relevant people, and use other software required within the role</li>
<li>Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the communal service and residents</li>
<li>Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs</li>
<li>Cultural awareness, Self-awareness, and ability to identify personal growth areas and take feedback</li>
