Are you passionate about empowering communities and making a real difference in people’s lives? Brent Council is looking for a dynamic and motivated&nbsp;Community Development and Engagement Officer&nbsp;to join our Housing Community Engagement team.
In this exciting role, you’ll lead and support a wide range of community engagement and consultation initiatives across one of London’s most diverse boroughs. From organising&nbsp;Brent Housing Events&nbsp;to promoting resident participation through the&nbsp;our platforms and visiting resident associations assisting them in the community, hosting panels, consultations and mystery shopping &nbsp;you’ll be at the heart of shaping how we connect with our communities.

The Person
We are looking for someone with a good understanding of Local Authority housing issues and an ability to think and act strategically, contributing to long-term planning and supporting improvement strategies and opportunities. &nbsp;Experience in building and maintaining constructive relationships with various partners and influencing them to achieve shared goals. You will also need skills to effectively manage projects, ensuring timely delivery and risk mitigation. You must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders while working collaboratively, be a problem solver and resilient. &nbsp; CIH Level qualification is required or willingness to undertake the course, &nbsp;provided by the council.&nbsp;

The Post
We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide tenancy management services for Bent's Housing Companies, i4B Holdings Ltd. and First Wave Housing Ltd. This will include rent collection, arrears management, Anti-Social Behaviour management and letting of properties. The roles will be focused on increasing income, supporting tenants to sustain tenancies, minimising void times and completing regular and meaningful tenancy audits, while providing holistic support working with tenants that are struggling. A large part of the role will be around tenant engagement and support, promoting and improving the i4B and FWH brand and driving improved tenant satisfaction.
The Person
You will be passionate about people, excellent customer service and enabling residents to live in good quality secure housing that meets their needs. You will take pride in seeing things through, finding solutions and working to achieve best outcomes. You will want to promote the Companies as a leading example of excellent tenancy management and create a portfolio to be proud of, where tenants know you, trust you and view you as the face of Brent Council.

The Post

You will work in both the Planning Policy Team and the Infrastructure Planning Team. Planning Policy monitoring will help understand how effective Brent Local Plan policies are. This will help understand what policy changes might be needed, or changes to council actions and the evidence needed to support such changes. Infrastructure Planning Team work will monitor and report on Community Infrastructure Levy or Planning Obligations financial contributions received. It will monitor how contributions are spent and on what benefits they are delivering to Brent communities.
