You will be based in the Advice and Wellbeing Hub OT Pathway working with other Occupational Therapists and Social Care Coordinator colleagues assessing adults with a broad range of needs. We work closely with our colleagues in the Advice and Wellbeing Hub Social Work Pathway. You will hold a varied caseload and contribute to the team performance and positive outcomes for our residents. Using a strengths-based approach and your unique OT skill set you will support individuals to find solutions, promote wellbeing and healthy occupations through a variety of interventions including provision of equipment, adaptations, moving and handling and goal planning. You will work closely with care providers, Housing Services and Health colleagues. You will also support the team’s Duty function triaging cases that come into the team. <li>Arranging meetings with parents, staff, students and outside agencies as necessary to discuss underachievement and/or any pastoral issue impacting on learning.</li>
<li>Mentor students – individuals or groups – communicating with form tutors, subject teachers and Assistant and Deputy head where necessary.</li>
<li>Provide regular mentoring to CLA students, liaise with Designated Teacher to prepare for PEP meetings, review targets and attend PEP meetings.</li>
</ul>
What we’re looking for:
<ul>
<li>Experience of working with children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and social emotional and mental health needs</li>
<li>Experience of a range of behaviour management strategies/Dealing with some challenging behaviour or other specific SEN</li>
<li>Ability to respond flexibility as needs arise and to be confident working with individuals, groups and whole classes if required</li>
<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li>

Who are we?
Mapesbury School is our newest Special Educational Needs school in Cricklewood, Brent. Our small school supports children aged between 7 to 16 years with Autism and associated conditions who have not been able to access education in a mainstream or specialist setting and would benefit from an integrated therapeutic approach to education. Pupils will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) but may not yet have a diagnosis, though they display traits of Autism and associated conditions.
Mapesbury School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
