About the role
We are seeking a Dual Diagnosis Worker who has a specialism in complex mental health and substance misuse to join our team in Croydon. This is a residential service which provides specialist mental health, complex needs, and dual diagnosis support to our residents. You will utilise your previous experience and knowledge, and provide specialist support to those who have been diagnosed with mental ill health and have challenges with substance use. You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills.
Within this role, you will act as a specialist for comorbidity, supporting the team to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. Some of the duties may include:
<ul>
<li>Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.</li>
<li>Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.</li>
<li>Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.</li>
<li>Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.</li>

About you
We’re looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with previous experience in a similar role. We look at individual characteristics to be able to show resilience, solve challenges, and be proactive in your approach. You will have a passion for supporting people to achieve their personal goals, and achieve positive outcomes, this includes having the ability to engage with people who may be hard to reach and engage with. We further are looking for someone who has:

<li>An appropriate qualification which is relevant to the role which could include: National Diploma, Bachelors, or master’s in psychology, Dual Diagnosis, Substance Misuse or any relevant</li>
<li>Previous experience in a similar role, providing holistic assessments and support for people experiencing mental health challenges</li>
<li>Applied knowledge of the principles of risk assessment and risk management, particularly in relation to harm minimisation.</li>
<li>A commitment to promoting recovery, harm reduction, and active involvement in care planning.</li>

<li>Manage a caseload of early years settings, children and families, adjusting support to meet individual need. Arranging and/or facilitating child focused meetings, undertaking and or supporting requests for Inclusion Funding and/or Education, Health and Care needs assessments (EHCPs).</li>
<li>Offer specialist advice and knowledge to early years providers and work alongside practitioners modelling effective strategies to aid inclusion and smooth transition of children with additional needs and that legislative requirements in relation to SEN are understood and implemented effectively.</li>

- Licensing Administration:&nbsp;Efficiently processing all types of license applications (new, variations, temporary, permanent) for markets, shop fronts, and street trading, ensuring timely and accurate issuance.
- Financial Management:&nbsp;Monitoring payments for market pitch fees and commercial operations, actively recovering arrears, and reconciling daily and monthly income.

- Analysing the long-term needs of the company’s social media strategy and offering quarterly reports to the management and executive teams, outlining any necessary changes to the overall digital marketing plan

The role is a full time position which includes weekend work as mandatory to capture live feeds and communication in all our markets.
You must have experience of managing multiple social media accounts and able to create digital content to promote the small businesses across all our Markets and Street trading sites. You should be able to use your own initiative and love putting your organisational and creative skills to good use. You will need to be articulate, with sound written and verbal communications. <h2>About the role</h2>An exciting, fixed term, full-time specialist practitioner position has become available. One of the posts will likely sit entirely within the multi-disciplinary Alternative Provision Taskforce and the other split between this taskforce and the BHISS Social, Emotional and Mental Health Team (SEMH), which currently operates as the city’s behaviour outreach service for 0–16-year-olds. &nbsp;BHISS-SEMH offers support, advice, trainings as well as direct in-school interventions for children whose behaviours are likely to mean they are at risk of suspension. Our key aims are to reduce fixed term suspensions; maintain children’s mainstream placement as well as develop colleagues’ capacity to manage challenge. We also offer a variety of bespoke trainings and forums for staff, both 1-1 and small groups, to discuss challenge as well as devise clear programmes of support for referred children. The ability to ably represent the team at multi-disciplinary meetings across the city is vital.&nbsp;BHISS is located at the Portslade Hub. The role is challenging and will see you working peripatetically across the city. &nbsp;The Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce is a Government funded pilot scheme that looks to provide more intensive support, through a multi-disciplinary team, for referred children within 3 of the city’s schools.&nbsp;The postholder could well blend an element of both roles within their working week.Please read our <a href="https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/jobs/open-vacancies-and-how-apply-brighton-hove-city-council/supporting-your-job-application/how-apply-job-council" target="_blank">Apply for a job at the council</a> pages carefully.
