This role will be pivotal in supporting our Children We Care For Team (Here4U) by collaborating with the wider service, relentlessly focussing on child centred systemic practice, and bringing strong line management leadership skills. We are looking for a part-time receptionist to provide front of house services at Harborough Innovation Centre on Mondays and Tuesdays (2 days/16 hours per week).
Harborough Innovation Centre (HIC) provides support services to start-up and growing businesses in the Harborough district.&nbsp; As the first point of contact for our residential businesses and visitors using our flexible workspaces, meeting and conference rooms, you will work as part of a friendly and dedicated team delivering first class, professional customer service. Ensuring all enquiries are processed to the required performance standards and complying with the Council’s policies &amp; procedures are key responsibilities of this post.
Applicants should have previous experience of administrative and clerical duties and possess good customer liaison skills. Duties also include provision of a telephony service and mail handling on behalf of the businesses associated with the Innovation Centre, as well as ad hoc cover in our busy café as required. The role will have responsibility for asbestos management across our stock and is a critical role ensuring the safety of our residents and properties by carrying out asbestos and legionella surveys and inspections and managing a programme of surveys and risk assessments across our housing stock.
The candidate must be enthusiastic, a good communicator and Asbestos P405 qualified, with experience of managing asbestos and water across housing assets.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and supporting the delivery of safe and effective housing services. You will be required to manage the Asbestos register, ensuring access is achieved by contractors and that the register is always up to date. You will submit notifications to the HSE for notifiable asbestos works in a timely manner to ensure repairs, void and planned works are not delayed.

Wirral Leaving Care Service was the subject of an Ofsted focused visit in 2024 and has made considerable progress. We are determined to continue to make further progress and improve the support we offer to our young people.

We’re looking for a qualified Chartered Surveyor with experience of working in multi-disciplinary team, and a good working knowledge of Landlord and Tenant Legislation. You will be autonomous and able to manage your own workload with minimum supervision.
Above all you will be looking to build on your current knowledge and skills to deliver a quality resource in the management of the Council’s property portfolio.

About the Role
The Council is looking to recruit someone who is interested in furthering their career in Local Government and able to help us to deliver a high-quality service by providing professional support and advice on tree preservation including contributing to planning applications, appeals and other related arborcultural and landscape issues.&nbsp;
The successful candidate will assist in the analysis of submitted planning applications and supporting information, to determine the impact and inform the planning decision making process and provide advice and guidance to planning officers.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
About You
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they have either experience or qualifications to deal efficiently and effectively with Tree Preservation Orders, tree work applications, High Hedges and Conservation Area Notices of Intent. The role would particularly suit someone who is looking to build on their existing landscaping and arboriculture knowledge. The successful candidate will be looking to learn and develop in the following areas:

<li>negotiation of improvements to applications and attach appropriate conditions</li>
<li>understanding and communicating risks associated with applications relating to protected trees</li>
<li>understanding the value trees bring to communities</li>
<li>helping to maintain the landscape profile and character of the Borough.&nbsp;</li>

Candidates will need to demonstrate that they have an interest and the ability to interpret planning policy and relevant legislation and have excellent communication and organisational skills.&nbsp;&nbsp;

We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Youth Justice Worker to join our Prevention and Youth Justice Service (PYJS) here at Wokingham Borough Council on a part time, fixed term contract.&nbsp;

<li>We work with children who are at risk of offending or who have already offended to reduce the chances they will offend again and support them achieve their full potential.</li>
<li>In your role, you will have to write an assessment of the child and co-produce and intervention plan with them. All your work with the child has to be timely recorded.&nbsp;There is a lot of case management and record keeping is an essential part of our job.</li>
<li>We have a duty to safeguard our children whilst also protecting the public: safety assessments, safety management and safeguarding and welfare of the children we work with is an essential aspect of our role.</li>
<li>We work in a multi-agency team and context: we support children as part of a network so you must be good communicating with others to overcome barriers and achieve better outcomes for our children.</li>
<li>Our role involves adherence to many pieces of legislation, frameworks, and guidance which you will have to learn and become familiar with to be able to deliver your role.</li>

Candidate Requirements
<ul>
<li>There is an essential requirement for this role to have a&nbsp;qualification in Social Work, Probation Services or Professional Certificate in Effective Practice (PCEP). Consideration for candidates without qualification will only be on the basis of them being currently employed as a youth justice worker in another service and to have held that post for a minimum of 6 months. For this particular role, candidates with a Teaching Qualification will also be considered, as well as anyone who has current experience of working with children in schools.&nbsp; Candidates that do not meet this essential requirement will not be shortlisted.&nbsp;</li>
<li>You are knowledgable about the Child First framework, trauma informed approaches. It is also desireable that you have knowledge of relevant criminal youth justice legislation, National Standards for Children in Youth Justice and Youth Justice Board best practice guidance.&nbsp;</li>
<li>You are familiar with Restorative Justice and the support that victims of crime need.</li>
<li>You can relate and engage with children and families, who have often experienced trauma.</li>
<li>You have experience of working with partners to improve outcomes for children.</li>
<li>You are able to write in an analytical and critical way, interpreting and analysing facts to produce reports and assessments for different audiences.</li>
