The Regulatory Services Partnership (RSP) hosted by Merton Council is one of the largest Environmental Health Services in London, with the Food and Safety Team responsible for overseeing more than 6,000 food businesses in Merton, Richmond and Wandsworth. The area covered is diverse in nature and includes a variety of high profile and interesting venues, such as Wimbledon Tennis, AFC Wimbledon, Twickenham Rugby, Battersea Power Station, New Covent Garden and Hampton Court Flower Show.
We have an exciting opportunity for talented and enthusiastic qualified professionals to join our team of dedicated Food and Health and Safety officers to deliver the food safety, health and safety and infectious disease function across the RSP boroughs.
As an authorised officer you will manage and deliver food hygiene and standards inspections of all premises type, including approved food premises. You will investigate complaints and accidents, using your knowledge, skills and experience, and applying the necessary behaviours.
You will mentor and supervise technical staff, sharing your knowledge and experience.
You should have a real passion for improving the environment and public health by engaging with our communities and businesses. You will be highly motivated, with a flexible approach and an eagerness to develop existing competencies as well as attaining new skills.

Risk assessment reports will, in most cases, be confined to the common internal and external areas for residential developments.What does the role involve?Specialising in the residential housing sector, Osterna's Residential Fire Risk Assessors carry out inspections to a range of property types including traditional residential blocks, sheltered housing, HMO and high-rise (over 18 metres +) housing and write up reports with your findings.Completed risk assessments are used by the Property Managers and Directors of the management companies to initiate repairs or any other procedures required, to ensure the residential common areas remain a safe environment.What knowledge, skills and experience are we looking for from our Fire Risk Assessor?<ul><li>A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential</li><li>Experience undertaking fire risk assessment work within the residential property sector on High Rise Buildings</li><li>It's essential you have a NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Level 3 NEBOSH National General Certificate</li><li>Experience of undertaking suitable and sufficient Health and Safety and Type's 1 and Type 3 Fire Risk Assessments (HSFRA), and Compartmentation Surveys.</li><li>Accuracy and attention to detail within your reports is essential, along with a comprehensive knowledge of the current Health and Safety legislation and its application to property management.</li><li>Knowledge of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and supporting local government guidance and its application to our sector.</li><li>LaCORS experience would be great, although not essential and training will be provided.</li><li>Osterna Limited specialise in Health &amp; Safety compliance in the residential property sector.
