Due to one promotion and one paralegal leaving us to undertake the SQE, we have a gap in our team for a new paralegal.We don’t mind if you don’t have experience – enthusiasm to get stuck into this important support role is far more important.We are multi-disciplinary and undertake work from fly-tipping to multi-million pound regen projects, and everything in between. We are also on the Government Devolution Priority Programme for Local Government Reorganisation, so we have a very big piece of work to do so that we are ready to become part of a unitary council in 2028, with lots of different workstreams – from helping HR with employment law input, to reviewing all the contracts across the council. That means lots of development opportunities for someone keen to learn. We are a crucial support service for the whole council, so you must be able to get on with folks, want to understand their needs, and want to help the council fulfil its ambitions. Although this is a hybrid role, you must be able and willing to work in the office. Main Responsibilities<ul><li>Supporting the lawyers, including the Deputy Head and Head of Legal Services (and the Data Protection Officer) in moving work forward. </li><li>Undertaking research tasks and drafting.</li></ul>The ideal candidateA recent graduate with either a law degree or conversion course, seeking legal experience in a busy, friendly multi-disciplinary team. Junior Paralegal

Rushmoor Borough Council and Hart District Council have entered into a Corporate Health &amp; Safety resource sharing Partnership. To support this work we are looking for a part time Corporate Health &amp; Safety Assistant for a period of two years to work closely with the Service Manager for Risk, Resilience &amp; Procurement at Rushmoor BC, providing support across both Councils.You will need to have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in providing health and safety advice/guidance and carrying out risk assessments, ideally in a related industry with a similar risk profile or a similar related field. Applicants must hold an IOSH Managing Safely qualification and be working towards or be an existing holder of the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. You will be highly organised, enthusiastic, have a good eye for detail and be able to act on your own initiative. You will be able to prioritise a busy workload; adapting quickly to situations as they arise. The role involves working across two Council’s and where necessary externally with key partners, so great interpersonal and communication skills are essential.Although the role will report to the Service Manager for Risk, Resilience and Procurement at Rushmoor BC as the employing authority, the role will allocate time equally between the partner organisations. This is a part time role and there is some flexibility in the days and hours in which it is delivered, if within normal office hours (Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4:40pm). We would be open to discuss this at interview and we can be flexible with those that have childcare and other commitments. The role will however require regular attendance at the Council Offices in Farnborough and Fleet. Corporate Health and Safety Assistant

RECRUITMENT OPEN EVENT We have an excellent opportunity available for Place Protection Officers to join our team here at Rushmoor Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis with an annual salary from £33,699 to £39,862 plus a 10% weekend working allowance.In this role, you will contribute to making Rushmoor a safer and nicer place to live, work and visit. You will investigate and resolve enviro-crimes, including fly-tipping, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, antisocial behaviour, homelessness related issues and parking contraventions. As a uniformed Place Protection Officer, your day will be spent mostly outside, in all weathers patrolling, engaging with the community, investigating and enforcing as appropriate. A flexible and pragmatic approach is required to meet the needs of the service, as no two days are the same. The team work on a rota basis comprising of 4 days on and 4 days off, usually during the hours of 8am – 7.35pm (however on occasions it may be necessary to work outside of these hours).You will be the visible face of the council and therefore need to have excellent communication and people skills and be able to adapt to different situations by showing assertiveness where required, whilst remaining calm and diplomatic.
