Big changes. No excuses. That’s what we’re delivering at Wirral Council. We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2020. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities.

Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place.

It is a fantastic place to live, work and visit.

We are an employer who supports, who is flexible but who demands the very best.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Wirral's new Attendance Service.

We are currently creating a service for the future and this is your chance to inspire and lead an ambitious, professional and accountable Attendance Team.

As the Attendance Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a customer-focused Wirral Attendance Service, the scope of which is to improve pupils' attendance levels in Wirral through support and challenge to school attendance staff, enabling them to promote whole school attendance, address individual pupil absence and where necessary advise on legal interventions.

As the service lead, you will be held accountable for establishing, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of attendance protocols that will safeguard children and protect them from exploitation, abuse and neglect.

These procedures and practices will help parents/carers support their children and young people overcome barriers to accessing education, raise their aspirations and consequently improve achievement outcomes. By promoting a community and multi-agency approach to school attendance, we will make Wirral great for children, young people and families. You will be solution focused by nature and have the necessary skills to lead innovation and manage change within a coaching culture.

Interviews to take place 08/10/2019.

No holding back. No excuses. Just change Wirral.
