Central Bedfordshire Council has a leading Information Technology service, with a forward-thinking approach that supports a modern and efficient local authority. We know that the right technology and support can transform services, improve outcomes for our residents, and boost the performance and productivity of our staff.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Technology to join the IT service.
You will be responsible for technology innovation and transformation, enterprise architecture, infrastructure and run all activities for hosted services on internal and external platforms.
Your main responsibilities will be to develop and maintain the technology roadmap, identifying the opportunities for supporting and influencing the overall IT strategy. You will oversee the infrastructure team, initiating and implementing robust solutions that are fit for the future.
The whole Council is engaged on an increasingly transformational approach to service provision and IT is critical to the success of this as we drive a digital first agenda to ensure staff are engaged in activity that adds the greatest value. Working with the Chief Information Officer, you will develop the teams to work collaboratively to deliver a robust and responsive service that supports the council to deliver its transformation agenda.
If you have experience of taking a similar remit forwards, including considerable transformation in a large organisation and a proven track record of seeking out and landing game changing innovation we’d love to hear from you.
You will need to be a strong influencer and an ability to form robust relationships across a large and complex, understanding the interdependencies in a large technology function.
Central Bedfordshire Council has its own vision and values that are integral to everything we do. Our area vision is to make Central Bedfordshire 'A great place to live and work’.
