The role What we do We carry out major works in order to maintain and improve council homes, typically large-scale works to extend or improve the life of a building. Examples of major works include roof replacement, window replacement and structural work to buildings, as well as installing kitchens and bathrooms where specific age/condition criteria are met. Investment is designed and delivered via North and South teams, and a separate team which manages mechanical and electrical engineering projects such as lifts and heating. Our other functions include liaison and communication with tenants and homeowners over proposed major works, managing contractors for the delivery of works and managing the delivery of sustainable design. Other work undertaken includes: an ambitious six-year improvement programme to replace all kitchens older than 20 years and bathrooms older than 30 years; major works on some of our regeneration schemes such as the Aylesbury and East Dulwich estates as well as additional works identified as High Investment Needs Estates (HINE) linked to the Warm, Dry and Safe programme. You will ensuring customer satisfaction in our major housing investment programme. You'll take charge of customer relations relating to our Major Works programme as well as being charged with developing relationships at area and community level while monitoring customer care and proposing corrective action in order to achieve customer satisfaction. Also co-ordinate customer consultation events. Ideally you will have an awareness of contract management and social issues that impact on service delivery, you'll have some experience in a customer service, communications, resident engagement, or public relations environment. Your strong interpersonal, consultation, and relationship building skills will make you stand out from the crowd. If you feel you have the required skills, we would like to hear from you.
