We are currently looking for Investigators to join us on a permanent basis in Birmingham, to find out more about the role and how to apply please read the information below. 

As an Investigator you’ll help resolve complaints between consumers and legal service providers. Dealing with people over the phone, and in writing, you will need to establish rapport, understand the complaints raised and help both sides to reach an agreement and to put things right if necessary.

You must have excellent telephone, customer service and negotiation skills alongside strong analytical, written communication and IT skills. You will be expected to use your judgement to reach an appropriate conclusion to the complaints you investigate.

Our investigators have diverse employment histories and experience and we really value that diversity.

Regardless of your background, you will have a three week training course that will provide an overview of the legal framework and the service standards we expect. After training, you will work as part of a team supported by Ombudsmen and a Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing your own case holding covering different areas of law and complaint complexities.

As an Investigator, you will work to targets and balance competing needs. This can include dealing with sometimes challenging and emotive situations. Therefore emotional resilience is essential.

Key dates for the selection process:

All applications will be reviewed, those that pass the initial sift will be telephone interviewed.  Those that pass the telephone interview will be expected to attend an assessment centre and should you be successful at that stage, you will need to attend a final interview as per the dates below.

Assessment centre – 2,3,4 & 5 October 2019

Final stage interviews – week commencing 14 October 2019

Start date for this role is Monday 18 November 2019

Regrettably, there is no flexibility on these dates.

Whilst part-time hours will be considered, it is essential that successful candidates are able to work on a full-time basis whilst undergoing their 3-4 week mandatory training.
