Community Development Officer – Youth Provision

Horsham District Council are looking for a Community Development Officer – Youth Provision to work with partners both internally and externally to identify and implement solutions to support youth services within the Horsham District.


As Community Development Officer you will sit within the Community Development team who are guided by a set of principles which include social inclusion, equality, and sustainable activities.


The post holder will be expected to work with a broad range of external organisations and partners to identify what services are being throughout our district, where there are gaps in services and how we can work in partnership to provide effective solutions that make the Horsham District a safer and healthier place for all residents and communities.


The post holder will also manage youth contracts operating throughout the district and ensure they are proactively meeting the needs of young residents.  


To succeed as Community Development Officer you will have a track record of working with partners to achieve results, a keen interest in providing services for young residents and be willing and able to work flexibly. You will need good communication, organisational and problem solving skills but someone that is keen to make a difference is most important.


It is essential that you hold a driving licence, a vehicle allowance is paid in addition to the salary. 


The specific work structure in respect of days and hours worked will be agreed with the successful applicant.
