Heritage Officer

Salary: £33,920 - £41,735 per annum

Fixed Term Contract until 31 December 2021

37 Hours per Week

We are recruiting a heritage officer on a fixed term contract whilst our Museum and Heritage Officer and Education Officer at Thurrock Museum are on Maternity Leave.

The main priority at the Museum whilst we are away is to keep the management of the collections up and running through our auditing and cataloguing process.

We are purchasing Museum Index Plus as part of our HLF funding and wish to start adding items from the collection onto this/ This will be a task to carry out whilst we are away . Thurrock Museum have recruited a number of volunteers who are helping with the auditing collection and would like someone to manage them and support them through this process.

The role will also involve dealing with enquiries from the public and also to work alongside other teams in the council on heritage events and occasions. Another important priority is to continue the Education Programme at Coalhouse Fort and manage the freelancers that currently help support the running of our sessions.

Closing Date: 8 September 2019
