Here at the London Borough of Havering, we are excited to be growing our Planning team. Over the next few years we are embarking on a regeneration journey that will transform our borough,  create high quality places, connect our towns and bring opportunities for all. To help achieve our goals, we are now looking for a Team Leader of Infrastructure Planning.

About The Role

In this newly created leadership role, you will have the autonomy to develop the Infrastructure Planning team from the ground up in order to drive performance. All the while, working alongside and supporting the Head of Strategic Applications to deliver the best possible service for residents.

This is an important opportunity to shape the future of how we monitor and plan for our spend.

To be successful in this role, you will have several years experience and understanding of infrastructure issues and the Community infrastructure Levy - particularly around collection and spending. In addition, you will need to possess experience of Section 106 negotiations.  We will also look to you to ensure Section 106 funding is collected and spent to ensure the best possible outcomes for the borough’s residents and businesses.

Whilst we are open to seeing candidates who want to step up, you must have demonstrable experience of the day to day supervision of a team whether through line management or mentoring.

About Us

Havering is moving forward. Though we are the third largest borough in London, Havering is not as well-known as its Essex and east London neighbours. However, we are changing that. We have so much planned in Havering – from transforming Romford Town Centre, extensive home building and creating integrated and long lasting infrastructure to give our residents and businesses the services they need.

But to invest in our borough, we know that we also need to invest in our people. We are looking for ambitious people who want to grow and develop their career here.  In return, we offer great support and training to get you settled into your role, fantastic benefits and encourage flexible working.

Our offices are a short walk from Romford station and easily reachable by bus. We are close to the M25 and offer discounted car parking for staff. We are an open plan, friendly office with a great atmosphere.

Our people are as much part of our journey as the work we are doing– together Havering is going places.
