We are looking for an enthusiastic qualified Social Worker, who is prepared to commit to working in a busy team and provide good supervision and leadership to social workers, occupational therapists and family support workers who are working with children with a range of disabilities, including learning and physical. Being a successful Assistant Team Manager in the Disabled Children’s Team involves managing and supporting the performance of the team, providing supervision and guidance around a wide range of issues and challenges, developing and maintaining good quality professional relationships with children, their families and other agencies and contributing to a busy and developing service.
You need to be flexible and self-disciplined and will supervise workers undertaking the full range of children’s social work including Child in Need, Looked After Children, Child Protection and court work. You will also need to support and supervise family support workers and other professionals on occasion.
The Disabled Children’s Team sits within Education and is part of the SEN and Learning Support Team. The Disabled Children’s Team is made up of Social Workers; Occupational Therapists; Family Support Worker’s and Business Support.
