Our vision at Thurrock Adult Community College is to provide adult education where people have the opportunity to learn, grow and shape their future.

To ensure we achieve our goals we are looking for highly motivated tutors and trainers to help us increase and develop a diverse curriculum that meets the needs of the people of Thurrock and enables them to achieve their life and career ambitions to take advantage of all the opportunities that are available to them.

You should be learner focused in your approach, demonstrate enthusiasm and passion in your subject and welcome the opportunity to contribute to the college mission, which is to make a positive difference to local people and their communities. You will ideally have experience of delivering courses to young people or adults and hold a teaching or training qualification or else have outstanding knowledge in your field with a deep desire to support and nurture the learning of others. Sessional tutors

Starting salary: From £22.43 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience and courses taught

Various hours, days and times - teaching starts from October 2019 (depending on course schedule)

A related specialist qualification at Level 3 or above preferred, though candidates with exceptional sector specific experience may be considered.   

Yoga

Yoga teacher certification

Digital Photography

A related specialist qualification at Level 3 or above preferred, though candidates with exceptional sector specific experience may be considered.  

British Sign Language

British Sign Language Level 3 qualification

Dance / Ballroom Dancing

Recent experience of teaching dance.  Please specify specialism on application. 

Interior Design / Soft Furnishings

A related specialist qualification at Level 3 or above preferred, though candidates with exceptional sector specific experience may be considered.  

Cookery / Dietetics / Healthy Eating

A related specialist qualification at Level 3 or above preferred, though candidates with exceptional sector specific experience may be considered.  Vegan and Vegetarian specialists particularly encouraged.

Circus Skills and Clowning

An education or training qualification at Level 3 or above preferred, though candidates with exceptional sector specific experience may be considered.  Please specify specialisms on application. 

Furniture Upcycling

An education or training qualification at Level 3 or above preferred, though candidates with exceptional sector specific experience may be considered.  

Storytelling

An education or training qualification at Level 3 or above preferred, though candidates with exceptional sector specific experience may be considered.  

Window Box Gardening

An education or training qualification at Level 3 or above preferred, though candidates with exceptional sector specific experience may be considered.  

Cake Decorating / Sugar-craft

An education or training qualification at Level 3 or above preferred, though candidates with exceptional sector specific experience may be considered.  

 

Sessional tutors may be required to teach Monday - Fridays, at various times of the day or evening, and occasional Saturdays. Sessions are typically 2 - 3 hours long, depending on the subject being taught. The amount of work you are offered will depend on the variety of courses that you would be able to deliver.
