Housing & Development Control – Selective Licensing
Project Assistant (x2)
£26,317 to £28,785
36.25 hours per week
The private rented sector plays a valuable role in providing housing for residents of the borough. Many landlords take their responsibility seriously and the council wants to encourage and support them. However, some landlords are not taking responsibility for the condition of their property or for the way they manage that property and tenancy. To address this, the Council operates three selective licensing areas, and has recently been given the go-ahead by the government to introduce four further areas.
If you would like to be part of improving housing conditions in Burnley and join the selective licensing team at this exciting time you will need to demonstrate in your application form that you meet the criteria detailed in the person specification.
Selective licensing is an extremely busy team continually dealing with a wide range of priorities affecting the private rented sector. You will need to be extremely efficient in organising your own workload and willing to help other team members. You will need to be resilient and be able to communicate with a wide range of audiences.
These posts are initially funded until November 2021 but may continue if further funding is identified beyond this date.
Burnley is in the heart of beautiful countryside and has excellent transport links and rapidly improving facilities.
