West Sussex County Council is looking for an Accounts Officer to join our Accommodation Team based from our Horsham office.

The Accounts Officer is responsible for setting up and managing rent accounts, processing invoices, recovering payments and financial tracking. The post-holder will also support the Accommodation Team with all financial administration relating to placing homeless applicants and their households into suitable accommodation. You will liaise with colleagues, external stakeholders and customers; excellent customer service and experience of excel is essential, along with excellent problem solving skills and an eye for detail. Knowledge of housing and or welfare benefits would be desirable.

WSCC doesn’t provide social housing, however we take a key role in protecting vulnerable families and young people; this includes a responsibility to families who have fallen through the housing authority’s safety net and providing assistance to households assessed as destitute as a result of their immigration status.
