At Thurrock, our strategic housing vision is to provide high quality housing opportunities in safe, clean and green environments. We will continue to care for our existing homes and ensure that new developments are well designed and support our ambition for our communities to flourish alongside business growth. We are looking for a Housing Enabling and Programme Co-Ordinator to help us take this vision a reality.
We have an ambitious Housing Investment Plan to be delivered over the next 5 years. As an Enabling and Programme Co-Ordinator you'll help us to make Thurrock a place of of choice by ensuring the delivery of attractive, high quality, mixed tenure housing on time and in budget for existing and future residents. We aim to ensure our Housing portfolio meets demand; including the needs of our most vulnerable residents and to ultimately build sustainable communities, whilst encouraging innovative design and making sensitive and responsible use of our environment.
You will have a pro-active and innovative approach to identifying, supporting and delivering opportunities to provide affordable housing, working closely with Housing Associations and other partners.
You will use your knowledge of affordable housing and the housing development process to support a range of projects to deliver more affordable housing provision for local residents. Working closely with colleagues within the Council's Housing, Planning and Legal teams your excellent communication and negotiation skills will mean that you build strong working relationships with Registered Providers, housing developers and other stakeholders.
A positive and practical approach will be essential to delivering this role in a challenging and changing environment.
Your attention to detail and financial awareness will ensure you are able to review financial appraisals together with supporting the Council's existing housing development process for both the Housing Revenue Account and our wholly owned development company - Thurrock Regeneration Limited.
Your enthusiasm, energy and approach to the role will be as important as your existing skills and knowledge. Training will be available in specialist areas in order to help you excel in your role.
