Big changes. No excuses. That’s what we’re delivering at Wirral Council. We’ve got ambitious targets to meet by 2020. To achieve everything we have promised to our residents, we need people who are driven and ready to deliver the very best for our communities.

Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place.

It is a fantastic place to live, work and visit.

We are an employer who supports, who is flexible but who demands the very best.

We are looking to add to our motivated & innovative Children's Centre team in South & West Wirral, by recruiting both a full time (36 hours) & a part time (18 hours Mon, Tues, Weds) School Readiness worker. School Readiness workers are a vital part of the children's centre offer of services & support, & as such, are highly trained and highly skilled in early years practice.

You will develop & deliver activity sessions/groups for parents & carers with children under 5, working closely with these parents / carers to support their child in learning essential skills to ensure that their child is ready for life. You will also work with settings & other professionals in the locality to ensure that each child's individual needs are met.

You will need a background & qualification in early years/childcare as well as an enthusiastic approach & lots of ideas! You will also need to be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of our families across the locality. Above all, you will be looking to improve the way that we engage with our families to ensure that they are at the heart of everything that we do.

The successful applicant must have the ability to converse with members of the public and provide advice in accurate, spoken English

This post is subject to Enhanced Level DBS check.

No holding back. No excuses. Just change Wirral.
