We have an exciting opportunity for a Controls Manager to join the finance team here are Camden. We are looking for a full or part-qualified accountant with technical knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to manage the key control reconciliations, including the feeder systems as well as the cash and bank reconciliations of the Council.
The right individual will work with and influence service managers, IT, HR and Finance to identify and resolve systemic issues and problems in data and feeder systems as well as proactively work with IT to deliver automated reconciliation processes and other responsibilities.
Working in a fast-paced environment you will need strong and effective communication skills, as you will be working with colleagues across the Council, and also manage a team of four controls accountants. Alongside this, you will be proactive in developing and improving the Controls Team and their support to the organisation.

We are looking for candidates who have the ability to interpret financial data/information, apply logic and judgement and have knowledge and understanding of financial frameworks and systems in a large organisation – preferably local government.
You will also have an understanding and knowledge of providing service delivery improvements, including financial systems and processes within a financial setting.
Excellent communication skills, influencing and presentation skills and a pro-active approach to work including identifying and resolving problems/issues.
