Revenues Officers x 2 (1 perm and 1 temp)

Salaries for both posts: Up to £22,462 pa

We are looking for a permanent full time Revenues Officer to work as part of an enthusiastic and customer focused approach to our service. We are also looking for a temporary 12 month contract Revenues Officer. The work of these Revenues posts will involve the delivery of billing of Council Tax and Non Domestic Rates. This is an exciting opportunity for the right people to join our positive and committed Revenues Services team where we seek to ensure that people have their Council Tax and Business Rates administered correctly and promptly.

You will need to promote and provide additional support to customers where financial difficulties are demonstrated and cannot easily be resolved. You must have experience of working with the general public and have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with individuals of all levels to explain things clearly. Ideally you would have an up to date knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates legislation.

You will be able to work on your own initiative and have a positive, enthusiastic and cheerful attitude towards other partners, the public and colleagues. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate calmly even when under pressure.  Excellent interviewing, negotiation and organisational skills and the ability to deal with difficult situations including persuading customers to pay. 

Starting salary will be dependent on prior experience, but which is not essential to apply for the role, as full training will be provided to the successful applicants.  Of more importance is a sound level of education; excellent communication and customer service skills; a pro-active approach to all areas of work; and a keen eye for accuracy.
