Community Link Worker

You have experience of working within mental health services or transferable skills from a related environment, plus a real commitment to service user development. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Richmond Fellowship as a Community Link Worker.

We need someone like you to join the team at our 24 hr Supported Housing service in North Shields. Your challenge will be to promote social inclusion and increase the independence and self-esteem of people using our services by helping them identify and achieve their goals. This will involve providing community based groups/sessions and promoting access to a range of activities within the wider community. You will work with our service users to help them develop necessary life skills to live independently, including supporting clients to learn how to budget. It will also involve working with a Team Leader to develop and support a range of enjoyable, interesting and relevant social activities. Running or supervising groups or activities will be important too, as will managing your own caseload and providing each individual with their own needs assessment and risk management plan.

As well as a good understanding of mental illness, we’ll be looking for the ability to prioritise a busy workload and work well within a team. You ‘ll also need the communication skills it takes to and motivate and inspire others and liaise effectively with a wide range of organisations and individuals. Proficient using office IT and willing to work some weekends and evenings, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work would also be an advantage. And, if you have experience of running activity groups and session, even better, although this is not essential

This is a part time post at 30 hours per week.

The salary for this post is £16,693.00 (pro-rata for 30 hours per week) with progression to a maximum of £17,230.00, subject to the postholder meeting the eligibility and performance criteria (pro-rata).
