About the Role
The Governance & Democratic Services Manager role is a crucial one for Reigate and Banstead.
This role will act as a bridge between the Democratic Services Team, Members of the Council and the general public. You will bring strong management and inspiring leadership to a great team of Democratic Services officers who are working to maintain high standards and achieve continuous improvement in this key area for the Council.
You will oversee the provision of governance process and advice across all Council activities and work closely with the Head of Legal and Governance to promote and maintain high standards of governance within the Council. You will bring energy and vision to our commercialisation agenda within the field of Democratic Services and help to develop and embed good decision-making at every level of the Council.
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced service manager with Democratic Services exposure and knowledge. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a deep understanding of working within a political environment but most importantly, you will be a pro-active, dynamic, inspiring leader who excels in ‘out of the box’ thinking.
